I have been employed with Great Beginnings Childcare & Learning Center since February 2000. It is a great
experience to provide a center where children can feel safe, have fun, and learn at the same time. It is truly a pleasure
to be surrounded by children and their laughter each day. Everyday is an adventure!
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son, his wife and their three children. My hobbies
include gardening, long walks, hiking, reading, music, and spending time with my family.

Brian Sopatyk

Great Beginnings Childcare & Learning Center opened in 1991. We felt that the community needed the availability
for affordable, quality child care. I was the founder of the Idaho Private Child Care Association, a former board of
director and member of National Child Care Association and also National Association of Child Care Professionals.
We continue to work closely with the legislators in adopting rules to create a better enviornment for children and try to
keep elected officials appraised of child care needs. I am married with one daughter, two grandsons and a granddaughter.
I am a BSU graduate with a business degree with emphasis in business administration. I am also a licensed pilot
and enjoy flying.

Katie Meza Assistant Director
Children have been the balance of my life since I began my career with Great Beginnings in 2000. There is so much
to learn from children. Watching them grow from toddlers to young people is so amazing! My two daughters,
Cinaya and Eva, are the light of my life. I also enjoy shopping, spending time with my family, and scrapbooking.
Since I am somewhat of a clean-freak, I also enjoy cleaning.
